Elk Grove, May 28 (Punjab Mail)- Mayor Steve Ly in partnership with SEIU-UHW, the Elk Grove Provisions Task Force and community leaders, APAPA (Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs), Tony Lin Elk-Grove Planning Commissioner, The United States Conference of Mayors, and Sean Yang- APAPA Central Valley Regional Chair will be donating a total of 21,000 surgical masks, and 5000 cloth masks to the most vulnerable populations in our community. In a joint effort with our sponsors, we are stepping up to help provide vital resources to the frontline workers of Kaiser Permanente, City of Elk Grove, Elk Grove Unified School District and multiple senior living facilities.
We will be providing 8500 masks to The City of Elk Grove, 6000 masks for Elk Grove Unified School District, 5,000 masks to Kaiser Permanente, 5000 masks to SEIU-UHW, and 1500 masks to three local senior living facilities. Protecting and preserving the health of those listed above is a top priority for the Office of Mayor Steve Ly and the listed sponsors. The recipients of the masks must receive our continued recognition and support, as they largely contribute to our continued success in overcoming COVID-19.
On Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM a ceremony will be held at City Hall located at 8401 Laguna Palms Way in Elk Grove, CA. The ceremony will be implementing social distancing efforts in compliance with Sacramento County’s Public Health Order. Mayor Steve Ly and listed sponsors will host an outdoor event that allows for a speedy pick up of the items.
