ELK GROVE, CA June 19 (Punjab Mail) – On June 19, 2020 at 3:05 a.m., an Elk Grove Police Department officer on routine patrol came upon a single-vehicle collision on Elk Grove Boulevard, just west of Wymark Drive.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Nissan Sentra traveling westbound on Elk Grove Boulevard had collided with a tree. The vehicle was occupied by two people. Officers began life saving measures on the passenger until relieved by arriving fire personnel. Despite lifesaving efforts, the passenger, a 45-year-old female, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Identification of the passenger will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau will be conducting an investigation into the collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call the Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148.
